Nearly indestructible
Functional form factor
Can mount to anything
Excellent video quality. Capable of 4K recording. Versatile shooting modes. Touch-screen LCD. Improved menu system.
The GoPro Hero4 Silver produces some great video for an action cam. Its abundant resolution and frame-rate options will satisfy beginners and experienced shooters. The built-in touchscreen makes previewing and reviewing and changing settings a breeze
Sharp images with fine color detail
Bright 1.7-inch touchscreen LCD
Easy control over Wi-Fi and mobile app
Access to huge selection of mounts and cases
It's a little 1.5inch cube
So it's small enough to mount just about anywhere. Little of the bulk and drag of a traditional GoPro mount. Supersimple onebutton operation. Fully waterproof without a case
Even the microphones. New mounts extend usability
Fantastic night photo mode
Touch LCD Screen
Professional-level video editing capabilities
The editors didn't like
Short battery life
Creeping price point
Expensive. Short battery life
It still needs a housing to be waterproof. Battery redesign means you can't use your old batteries and battery life will still be too short for some. No option for in-camera digital image stabilization
Video and photos can look a tad hazy
Case muffles audio
Less capable than other GoPro cameras. Inferior image quality in detail

Great image quality, Enormous array of mounts, Excellent all-rounder
Expensive, Average battery life, Non-standard charger
In our opinion, despite a few niggles and an unfortunately high price, the GoPro Hero 4 is still the best all round camera for shooting your adventures. If you're someone who goes hiking, kayaking, skiing, or any other kind of outdoorsing pretty regularl...

A small edition makes a big improvement to the GoPro line.It can be a bit confusing keeping track of all the different variations of GoPros on the market, something not aided by the fact that they all look so similar. The Hero4 Silver distinguishes itself...
Compact, Touchscreen on back, Lots of video modes, Good picture quality
Very poor battery life, Not enough accessories included, Front screen isn't backlit, Slow WiFi connection with significant lag, No headphone or mic port, Mono sound
Everyone was excited about the GoPro Hero4 Silver, or at least the thought of a GoPro with a rear touchscreen. There's no denying that it's a very practical addition, but it could be better incorporated. Not only that, but it brings the battery life crash...

Great video and photo quality, Simple yet sophisticated, Vivid touchscreen, Highly stable Wi-Fi
Limited battery life, Some issues with pixelation, Can't handle bright, direct light
GoPro deserves credit for breathing life back into the stagnant camcorder business. While traditional camcorders have lost their luster, action cameras have gained popularity. Competitors from Sony to Polaroid have challenged GoPro for this turf, but it ...

The GoPro Hero 4 Silver and Black action cameras are revered the world over, and we now know why. They are incredibly fun to use and pack a lot of technology in for their size. As far as premium action cameras go, they are easily two of the best on the ma...
