  • Abstract:  The body of the camcorder itself has limited options for in and out jacks. In fact, theres only a special AV jack on the body of the DCR-PC100. To get FireWire or USB access from your camera, the Handycam Station must be used. The Handycam Station can...

  • Abstract:  The DCR-PC1000 is the first consumer camcorder to include CMOS chips for producing its video image, instead of the typical CCD system. On top of that, it includes 3 CMOS chips, specifically 3 1/6 inch chips with 790K pixels total, 690K for stills, and ...

  • Picture quality, wealth of still photo options, USB streaming feature.
  • Price, lack of external headphone / mic sockets.
  • Sony has delivered a first generation CMOS camcorder that performs surprisingly well and it is likely that we will be seeing more in the not too distant future. Well done Sony.

  • Uses MiniDV and has a three CMOS sensor and image stabilisation system.
  • Vertical form factor doesnt feel secure - try before you buy. Over complicated control deck. Expensive.
  • This 2.8MP Sony offering gives solid stills, but images are not as glorious as you’d expect for the brassy price ...
