The editors liked
Full-frame image sensor. 14fps burst capability. 61-point autofocus system. Excellent images at very high ISO settings. Built like a tank. Loads of controls. Dual CF card slots. 1080p video capture.
Performs exceptionally well in lowlight situations
Capable of shooting breathtaking bursts at high speed
Feels robust and up to the task of any photo challenge
The editors didn't like
Very expensive. Heavy. No built-in flash. No headphone jack. Uncompressed HDMI video output not possible. Switching between still and video live view mode is cumbersome
AF drive mode isn’t displayed through the viewfinder when it’s being changed
Star rating isn’t as intuitive as that on the EOS5D Mark III

With this camera there is no lag between thinking the photo and capturing it to one of the two CF memory cards. Focus and exposure are consistently spot on. Auto focusing on moving subjects is brilliant.
The weight precludes the 1DX from everyday casual use
