  • Excellent telephoto lens, Good all-round image quality
  • Not the fastest
  • Digital SLRs may be making all the headlines but rumours of the death of the compact camera have been greatly exaggerated. Panasonics latest super-zoom revitalises the category with a mighty 18x optical zoom, spanning a range from useful wide-angle (2...

  • Very good image stabilization, Great overall image quality, Intelligent Auto mode
  • Noise reduction engine affects image sharpness

  • Intelligent Auto mode was spot on most of the time; solid build; good overall performance.
  • No hotshoe; no flip-out screen.
  • Its ease of use is of note for a user who isnt prepared to delve into a cameras manual exposure settings, but who wants something better than a point-and-shoot.
