Good overall image quality, Detailed controls, Screen Split is handy utility
21:9 aspect ratio doesn't play well with games and some movies, Color accuracy out of the box is poor, Controls are a nuisance to navigate, No height adjustment available
The LG 29EA93 measures fairly well post calibration, so LG did a reasonably good job on the electronics side. However, while a 21:9 aspect ratio offering 2560 x 1080 resolution sounds like an exciting concept, it's really a solution in search of a probl...
When we first heard about LG 29EA93 we didn’t know what to expect. When we first saw it, we thought that we would have hard time adjusting to the unusual aspect ratio and weird resolution. When we had to part with it, we had a hard time, because after ...

Excellent IPS display quality. Ultra wide works great for a majority of content, especially gaming and movie watching. Well built. Good connectivity. USB 3.0 hub.
Not an effective replacement to dual monitors. Price is a bit steep.
The LG Flatron 29EA93-P is an impressively wide IPS display that produces brilliant output with rich colors, deep blacks and excellent contrast. It's possibly the most evenly-lit and brightest monitor I've encountered, armed with a plethora of ports (sans...
Abstract: Last year I reviewed the LG 29EA93 monitor before its scheduled US release date. As someone that thinks there is a good market for ultrawide displays, the 21:9 aspect ratio was very interesting to me, and something I wanted to take a look at persona...
When the 29EA93 was announced, I was drawn to it because of the 21:9 ratio and my preference for the wider film format. I was worried about how it would work with my everyday material compared to a 27” or even 24” monitor. Would the ratio be a one-trick p...
Abstract: Although 16:9 seems to be the aspect ratio of choice for most monitor making companies, there's been something of a push for 21:9.This cinema-styled ratio (which is actually a less marketable 64:27) is perfect for movies, as it eradicates the unsightly bl...
Excellent connectivity, Dual Link-Up facility is neat, 21:9 aspect is great for films and some games
No height adjustment is a problem, Limited vertical desktop space, So-so accuracy out of the box
The LG29EA93 is an interesting but not totally convincing monitor. Image quality is good, though, so if it's what you want and can forgive it a few issues, it's worth considering....
Accurate colours with default settings, Contrast at 1050:1, Thorough range of connection ports, Effective image upscaling for 1080p sources, Wide viewing angles, USB 3.0 hub, High resolution: a third more data displayed onscreen compared with a 1920 x 108
Responsiveness: too slow for video games, PiP mode requires connection over DisplayPort, which still isn't particularly common, All USB ports on the back of the monitor, Higherthanaverage price
LG's promises of a fully immersive experience for video games aren't fulfilled here because of the monitor's poor response time. Still, with its 21:9 screen, the 29EA93 is a great monitor for office work and for watching Full HD videos (thanks to excellen...
The LG 29EA93 won't be for everyone. The 2560 by 1080 pixel ultra-wide aspect ratio is great, but brings with it issues of compatibility with existing software and hardware. Some of the more advanced options can be tricky to set up. However, our sample de...
