The editors didn't like

  • Apps need more modern UI (it's coming)
  • The LaCie Fuel doesn't have anything its competition doesn't already have
  • Including the Wireless Plus from Seagate
  • Which owns LaCie
  • Shorter battery life than predecessor
  • Wireless mode requires proprietary software
  • Only USB 3.0 interface
  • High cost per gig
  • A little bulky
  • Relatively sluggish wired transfer rates
  • Serious security issues seem to be overlooked in the setup process. Occasional DRM snafus prevent streaming of movies
  • USB cable is too short. PDF manual should be on the drive. However
  • No serious cons or issues
