The editors liked

  • Least expensive 4 drive RAID 5 NAS
  • Can be used as a Mac OS Time Machine destination
  • Quiet operation
  • Remote Web Access
  • Powerful (and free) remoteaccess client. Drives easy to swap out. Quiet. 85page manual will please RTFM crowd.

The editors didn't like

  • Bottom of the pack performance for fourdrive NASes
  • Power down is the default RAID Failure mode
  • Drives not hot swappable
  • No logging for FTP or Web Access
  • Slowest transfer speeds in our test
  • Though not by a lot. Configuring Web access and other advanced features takes patience. Ungodly expensive
  • But you get what you pay for.
