The Verizon Wireless MiFi 2200 Intelligent Mobile Hotspot supports up to five Wi-Fi devices only at a time and its wireless LAN throughput speed and range could be faster. It comes with expensive and limited data plans.
Runs hot. Battery power drops quickly with multiple devices. Tied to Verizon Wireless EV-DO service only.
No way to gauge signal strength on device itself.
Broadband network not very broad in rural areas
3G network speeds can vary widely. Initial tethered setup is a bit unclear. Can't charge battery and transmit WiFi simultaneously.

Turns on accidentally
Requires expensive service plan.
Limited to five users or devices connected at a time.
No easy way to get a good indication of signal strength without a computer.
Power button is very sensitive
Speeds vary greatly
Only 3G in the face of the onrushing 4G behemoths
Annoying performance limitations with lower-power Wi-Fi devices like tablets and handhelds
