Short battery life on our tests, Lackluster processing performance, GPU can't support the 4K display
Acer's Aspire V 15 Nitro updates an existing 15-inch gaming laptop with a gorgeous 4K display, but it doesn't make up for lacklustre performance and short battery life in testing...

Very little gamer-focused lighting; Number-pad included; Despite being a good screen, it lacks touch, which is particularly surprising on a Windows 8 machine; Conventional hard drive, and a slow one at that; Sub-par battery for mobile gaming; Speakers are
Acer's entry in the popular gaming space is an interesting offering that would be so much more compelling if the price was lower or Acer was bringing more to the table.Spec-wise, it's fine, but for this sort of money, you kind of want a solid-state drive,...
Solid game performance, High quality screen, Solid build quality
Lacklustre 2D performance, No SSD, Rather pricey

Short battery life, Finicky display, Lots of bloatware
The Acer Aspire V15 Nitro Black Edition turned out to be a nicely powerful gaming laptop at a fair price, but clearly some corners were cut to get there....
Powerful Nvidia graphics core, Fast Core i7 processor, Bright screen with decent colours, Good keyboard, Punchy, rich speakers
Processor throttles at high temperatures, Underwhelming design, Middling battery life
Acer Aspire V Nitro VN7-591G Black Edition: Keyboard & Trackpad The Nitro's scrabble-tile keyboard is okay: it's got a sturdy base, and the keys have reasonable travel, which makes it good enough for light work and web browsing. However, those who do plen...
