The editors didn't like
Slim Pen and keyboard are very expensive
No headphone jack
Very limited I/O
Memory is soldered to the motherboard
Windows is not very well suited for ARM integration in 2020
App compatibility issues and some bugs
Good
Though not overly impressive battery life
USB-C ports are late
And lack Thunderbolt
App compatibility issues
Middling performance
Poor value
App compatibility issues (for now)
Lacks 5G or Wi-Fi 6 support
Very expensive (keyboard and stylus sold separately)
No Dolby Vision or antiglare display
Sevenhour battery life (x86)
SQ2 is not as impressive in 2020
Still expensive
Questions remain about x8664bit emulation
No 5G or WiFi 6
Expensive
Too slow for the price
Battery doesn't impress
Still some app compatibility issues
No 5G
Windows-on-ARM ecosystem is still developing
I know it's coming
But at the time of review there is no 64 bit emulation and basically no developers are building software for Windows on ARM. It makes the Surface Pro X a pseudo Chromebook until 64 bit emulation is released
It's an insane expectation
ARM still doesn't support certain legacy applications
Same great design, New 'Platinum' colour option, Better battery life
App compatibility still limited, SQ2 marginally improves performance, Arguably necessary accessories still very pricey
We've seen this beforeAs for the design of the Surface Pro X (2020), there's really nothing new here — it's about as iterative as you can get. Internally, the only change is the addition of a SQ2 processor, while externally there's a new colour variant, ‘...

After years of cookie-cutter upgrades, the Surface Pro X delivers a well-thought-out physical redesign. Again, however—and this is getting tiring by now—app compatibility, performance issues and bugs complicate Microsoft's effort. Calling it an “Edgebook”...
Beautiful 13-inch display, Lightweight and ultra-portable, Fantastic cameras for a tablet
Lack of app support for Windows on ARM, No Thunderbolt 3 or Thunderbolt 4, Stylus and keyboard come sold separately,
The Microsoft Surface Pro X is a lightweight device for everyday browsing and general office work, but the lack of native support for creative applications for Windows on ARM makes it a very hard sell for people working in a creative industry. It makes fo...

slim, great 13in screen, 4G, kickstand, ninehour battery, 2x USBC, quick charging, Windows Hello, brilliant keyboard (essential additional purchase), smart stylus holder, Windows 10
not much ARMnative software, no good photo editors, no SD card reader, no headphone socket, no Thunderbolt 3, keyboard not included
The Surface Pro X is Microsoft's gamble on ARM chips as one future of Windows devices, enabling thinner, lighter, longer-lasting and always-connected machines. But it hasn't paid off just yet. For something promising to be a fully-fledged Windows 10 comput...
