  • Plays games and Blu-rays, Tidier design, Ton of games out there
  • No HDMI cable in the box, New disc tray feels cheap and nasty
  • It’s a shame there are a couple of little flaws, but the PS3 remains a supreme all-purpose console and it’s now slimmer and lighter than ever ...

  • Sheer oomph and myriad multimedia skills.
  • It's pricey and the choice of games can't match the Xbox 360's.
  • erociously powerful, the PlayStation 3 combines cutting-edge Hi-Def gaming with enormous multimedia potential. Shame about the high price and comparatively small games catalogue! The Sony PlayStation 3, on paper at least, should be able to give the Xbox...

  • Swanky design; quiet operation; all games in high-definition; user-friendly interface; plays Blu-ray movies; built-in Wi-Fi; 80GB hard drive; online play is free; HDMI output with 1080p support; no external power supply
  • Games lineup is improving, but still lacks killer app; HDMI cable not included; some PS2 games not supported
  • Sony's PlayStation 3 may be the most expensive next-gen console, and its library of exclusive games isn't very impressive, but its swanky design and bevy of features, including a Blu-ray drive, make it hard to resist ...

  • Abstract:  The Blu-ray format owes much of its success to the fact that Blu-ray playback is built into the PlayStation 3 console. Until recently, a PS3 was cheaper than any set-top Blu-ray player, and its still very competitive, especially if you also want a...

  • On the flip side, the PS3 is a little lacking when it comes to top games, especially compared to the far cheaper Xbox 360. Whilst there are plenty of solid titles knocking around, Sony’s console still doesn’t have an exclusive “killer ap...
  • Die-hard gamers would be better suited to the Xbox 360 and its huge library of top titles, but there’s no denying that the PS3 is an impressive machine of many home entertainment talents, should you be more media minded.Best offers for the Sony Play...
