Expensive
Costs more than competing consoles. Sony has removed memory card slots. Online features lag behind Microsofts Xbox LIVE. No dedicated Blu-ray remote.
Overall
Feels slightly flimsier than the previous PlayStation 3. Sliding-door optical drive doesn't feel sturdy
And it feels like a step backward
Expensive. HDMI cable sold separately. No more vibrating controller. Hard to find on store shelves.
Only two USB ports instead of four
Backward compatibility is limited to PS1 games
The included remote is cumbersome and it is sometimes hard to find the appropriate buttons
Especially for the nongamer
While the audio performance is pretty strong
The PS3 doesn't have the cult following that the PS2 has developed among audiophiles. It is altogether possible that the reason why the audiophiles like the PS2 is because it isn't the newest thing (they always like the old stuff
Power hungry
HDMI set up is frustrating

It's pricey and the choice of games can't match the Xbox 360's.
erociously powerful, the PlayStation 3 combines cutting-edge Hi-Def gaming with enormous multimedia potential. Shame about the high price and comparatively small games catalogue! The Sony PlayStation 3, on paper at least, should be able to give the Xbox...
Abstract: It does the job, and loaded our Blu-ray discs fractionally faster than any of the standalone players, but unless you are a gamer, we reckon you’ll still be better off with a dedicated player.
Apple TV 2.2 Star rating: Apples TV project integrates into your home brilliantly, but is quite pricey

Swanky design; quiet operation; all games in high-definition; user-friendly interface; plays Blu-ray movies; built-in Wi-Fi; 80GB hard drive; online play is free; HDMI output with 1080p support; no external power supply
Games lineup is improving, but still lacks killer app; HDMI cable not included; some PS2 games not supported
Sony's PlayStation 3 may be the most expensive next-gen console, and its library of exclusive games isn't very impressive, but its swanky design and bevy of features, including a Blu-ray drive, make it hard to resist ...
Abstract: The Blu-ray format owes much of its success to the fact that Blu-ray playback is built into the PlayStation 3 console. Until recently, a PS3 was cheaper than any set-top Blu-ray player, and its still very competitive, especially if you also want a...
The PS3 is a flexible multimedia maestro, capable of far more than just spitting out next-gen games with rapier-sharp graphics. This beautifully built console also delivers glorious high definition movies thanks to its Blu-ray capabilities, and it’s...
On the flip side, the PS3 is a little lacking when it comes to top games, especially compared to the far cheaper Xbox 360. Whilst there are plenty of solid titles knocking around, Sony’s console still doesn’t have an exclusive “killer ap...
