Bangin new compact body houses all the power of the original. A beefier 120GB hard drive is still a breeze to swap out. Overall
Runs quieter than previous PS3 iterations. Hello extra Cnote! A great value

Abstract: NameSony's remodelled PlayStation 3 (120GB) dropped a couple of dress sizes and over $100 off the price of its predecessor, the original PlayStation 3. For $630, you can now have a first-class, BD-Live-capable Blu-ray player with 1080p HDMI output, integr...

Abstract: With built-in Blu-ray, Wi-Fi and a 120GB hard drive, the £249 Sony PS3 Slim seems set to become one of the best console deals on the market. It is amazing what a long-awaited price cut and reconfigured hardware setup can do for a system, but with the PS3 ...
Much more affordable, brilliant gaming, second-to-none video and media player
A bit loud, drive cover is a bit cheap and flimsy, still not quite "cheap"
As we write this Sony is gearing up to launch the PS4. That console will be out by the end of the year, we think. Does that mean you shouldn't buy a PS3 if you haven't already got one? Absolutely not, if you don't have one, you're missing out on a l...

SSD storage option, Tiny dimensions, Great media capability, Perfect for newcomers
Flimsy exterior, Cheap drive mechanism, Tough price point
Where it does offer food for thought, though, is in the 12GB model's SSD. We think the 500GB model of super-slim is overpriced at £240/$300, in that all it really offers to the existing user base is more gigabytes to fill up. If you're struggling to mana...
The styling of the Sony PS3 Slim is a 100 per cent improvement on the original PS3. The original console may have been powerful, but it was also big and bloated, and looked out of place when sat alongside the latest slimline HD TVs. The slim Playstation 3 features a much thinner chassis, and also gets a smarter matt black finish. Gaming was always an issue for the original PS3, and this is anothe
The biggest drawback on the Sony PS3 Slim is the lack of support for older Sony PS2 games. It seems to be completely unnecessary, and fails to take into account the thousands of PS2 owners who plan on upgrading while still wanting to play some of their older games.
That said, the Sony PS3 Slim is still an impressive achievement, and it easily ranks among the best gaming consoles ever. Slimmer, neater and packed with features, it's definitely a must have. Best offers for the Sony Playstation 3 SlimMarks and Spence...
Has Sony redeemed the PS3 brand? Regardless of the previously stated drawbacks, and the triumph of image over substance, the fact is that the PS3 Slim costs half of what the original PS3 cost when it first launched. It is also smaller, quieter and con...
