The editors didn't like

  • Meager storyline fails to find essential place in series lore
  • Irritating new characters with obnoxious quips and remarks
  • Map screen lacks usefulness
  • Too easy to lose direction
  • The lack of a run button makes backtracking and evasion tiresome
  • No campaign coop or splitscreen
  • Unlike Revelations 2
  • New sidekick Jessica wants Chris's sweet bod but he's totally not interested
  • Unengaging new characters.

  • Abstract:  While Resident Evil 4 is considered one of the best made games of all time, shifting the series from survival horror to combat-focused action left some fans with a vast, empty chasm in their hearts. The modern Resident Evil is tense, fast-paced, and ...

  • Abstract:  I think Revelations is compelling because it hybridizes the two types of RE games. Younger readers may not realize this, but before RE4, the series was famous for its terrible "tank" controls, sparse ammo, an inability to aim, and way too much key find...

  • Abstract:  Resident Evil Revelations Review1 2 Like the mutated viral strains that inhabit its many undead bodies, Resident Evil keeps adapting. As a result, each new game has to ponder the past, present and future of the series. Should the next Resident Evil be ...

  • Abstract:  Resident Evil: Revelations splices the survival horror DNA of classic Resident Evil with the new, brisker strain of Resident Evils 4 and 5. The result isn't an Umbrella-style crime against nature, but a healthy, happy hybrid: an optimum mix of tense, c...

  • Abstract:  It’s tough to be terrified by a movie that fits in the palm of your hand. Watch Insidious in a theatre and you’ll likely shut your eyes in fear. Watch it on your phone and you’ll probably shut your eyes for another reason: To go to sleep. The same goes...

  • Top-notch visuals and well utilised 3D effects. Fun and satisfying action gameplay. Raid Mode constitutes the best extra mode in the series’ history.
  • The moments that nod to the franchise’s glory days are few and far between. A relatively weak and out-of-step story.

  • Abstract:  Resident Evil: Revelations is a game with a lot of numbers attached. First off, it’s the eighth game in the main Resident Evil series (that’s right, this isn’t a spin-off or side-story), and the twenty-first (depending on how you count them) overall. I...
