The editors liked
A grown man is playing with dolls
And that's perfectly fine
Because the dolls are wielding bladed weapons
Includes all the DLC from the WiiU and 3DS
Additional QoL changes that improve gameplay
Fast paced hack and slash action
Looks and plays better than ever
Included DLC adds loads of content
One of the best Warriors games
Excellent tension between tactics and action
Battles are visual feats
The best embodiment of Zelda fan service
Battlefields based on iconic Zelda locations
Combat is fluid
Easy to learn and satisfyingly destructive
Large pool of characters to play as
Linkle is awesome and we need more of her
New Adventure mode maps
Lots of characters already unlocked
Still a blast to play
The music is incredible
Coop now more decent
Fantastic performance
Missions and stages remain quite fun
Pretty refined Warriors game
Truly a complete package
Retains the addictively engrossing Warriors gameplay fans have come to love
Faithful representation of Legend of Zelda and Warriors games
Contains all the content from the original versions of Hyrule Warriors
Beautiful graphical upgrade thanks to Switc
The editors didn't like
Sometimes there's way too much happening and you freak out
Developer
Graphics are improved
But still look dated
A monumental grind to unlock everything
Repetitive combat
Performance isn't smooth
Some frustrating bosses
Very similar to many other Warriors games
Some minor frame rate issues
Not much new content
Not enough Linkle
Playstyle got stale for me
Story is inconsequential
Not worth the double-dip
Frame rate issues still persist
Animation differences with 3DS cutscenes
Coop glitches
Legend Mode misses constant rewards
Checkpoint system is a bit unfair
Return buyers might find unlocking characters again a little too grind-centered

Great fun for brief spells, Combines both licences really well, Surprising depth to the combat as it develops, Co-op right out the box
Will grow tiresome in long sessions, Frame rate dips in hectic sequences, It's still just a Warriors game beneath the Zelda veil
