The editors liked

  • TDP and power draw is almost unbelievable at 150W for such a high-performance GPU
  • Using only one 8-pin PCIe cable
  • In contrast the Fury X requires two 8-pin cables
  • Overclockability is very good so far – GPU Boost 3.0 works with the Precision X overcloc
  • The EVGA GTX 1060 3GB beats the Red Devil RX 470 overall in performance at a similar price
  • With one 6-pin PCIe connector
  • TDP and power draw are good and it is quiet in comparison to the reference GTX 1060 Founders Edition. ACX 2.0 cooling is very effect
  • The EVGA GTX 1080 FTX beats the more expensive Founders Editon in performance
  • And it beats its Fury X competitor in every benchmark at a similar price
  • TDP and power draw are good and it is very quiet in comparison to almost any other high-performance vi
  • We're raiding tombs again

  • Great blend of survival & exploration
  • Depth in customization w/ tons of skills to acquire
  • Plenty to do for would-be adventurers
  • Significant replayability
  • Stunning visuals
  • Fantastic voice acting
  • Great Soundtrack
  • Excellent mix of genres
  • Balanced combat
  • New side content to Lara's family history
  • Light puzzle solving in Blood Ties
  • Zombie defense in Lara's Nightmare

The editors didn't like

  • The video memory at 3GB limits the GTX 1060 to 1920×1080 resolution
  • PrecisionX OC refused to launch for us after activation. We probably left overclocking performance on the table by setting our overclock manually by being unable to use the advanced overclocking features it offers
  • Gun battles seem overly used
  • Add little to core appeal
  • Lukewarm
  • Uninspiring story line
  • Very intensive on low-midrange systems
  • Performance issues in hub areas
  • Poison Arrows easily exploited
  • VR movement still tough to handle
  • New content completed in only a few hours
  • Some graphical glitches

  • Rise of the Tomb Raider is a worthy successor to this epic series. The game feels right, provides immersive gameplay, and comes with amazing graphics that run well on both AMD and NVIDIA cards. For 1080p gaming, a R9 290X/390X or GTX 970 are good options...

  • The early results are in and the verdict is....Rise of the Tomb Raider is going to be tough on GPUs at maximum image quality settings. Obviously you'll be able to turn IQ settings down to get frame rates where you want them with your hardware, but if you...

  • Rise of the Tomb Raider is a game that was highly anticipated by PC gamers, not only because of how great the last iteration was to play, but also because the last game had a fairly good PC port, though AMD's TressFX did have trouble running on Nvidia har...
