The editors didn't like
800 cars just copied over from previous games
Clunky interface
Collisions still aren't right
AI still not good enough

Making the majority of them lower-quality models without interiors is ridiculous

Frequently idiotic A.I.
Inconsistent graphic quality. Slow and sometimes frustrating user experience. Its sheer size and complexity means GT5 is not a particularly accessible driving game for more casual players.
Quality of visuals is wildly inconsistent
Outdated and impractical online lobby system
Too easy to win early races simply by entering in a powerful car.
Abstract: It didn't even register at first. I put my review copy of Gran Turismo 5 into my PS3 and started it up, watched a lovely cutscene and then began playing. No fanfare. No parade. No banners hanging from the ceiling. Here I was, in a slow car and on som...
Abstract: There's a quote, attributed to Shigeru Miyamoto, that could well serve as the mantra for racing enthusiasts waiting to play Gran Turismo 5: "A delayed game is eventually good, a bad game is bad forever." Much like Miyamoto and other notable perfectioni...
Abstract: 5 years in the making and expected to take car racing simulation on consoles to the next level, Gran Turismo 5 is a behemoth title replete with hyper-realistic visuals, a jaw-dropping selection of 1,031 cars, 71 different racetracks and environments al...
Abstract: The Real Driving SimulatorIts been a long time between drinks and 6-years in the making but the latest and greatest Gran Turismo is finally here on the PlayStation 3. Was it worth the wait? Definitely! Was it what we were expecting? Almost! That's beca...
Mind-boggling number of racing challenges, cars, tracks and features; superb online mode
Inconsistent graphic quality; slow and sometimes frustrating user experience; its sheer size and complexity means GT5 is not a particularly accessible driving game for more casual players
After an extremely long gestation period and seemingly endless delays, Gran Turismo 5 is finally here. Was it worth the wait? Here's where you can find out...
The new tracks and cars are incredibly detailed. The traditional GT racing experience is better than ever, with amazing attention to physics and handling. The challenges are diverse, and accumulating vehicles is just as addictive as it always was. PSP integration is a nice touch, too.
Little development shown on cars and tracks lifted from previous games. No Top Gear cars. Online multiplayer needs attention. Track creation tool is too basic. Soundtrack is uninspiring. Load times are grating. Non-intuitive interface.
Abstract: Each year, normally around Christmas, there’s typically a handful of blockbusters released. This is true in most media industries to a certain extent, but never quite so much as in videogames. Even then, it’s still pretty rare for a title as anticipate...
Excellent driving sensations, Numerous vehicles, Diversity in game modes, Enormous durability, Realism of physics engine
Artificial intelligence very poor, Collisions and damage unrealistic, Poor modeling of non 'premium' cars, A few graphics problems, Poor overall finish
We've been waiting for Gran Turismo 5 a long time! Although we like the driving sensations, the finish and persistent faults are only to be regretted. Without making the expected splash, it is nevertheless the best and most complete of all racing simul...
Gran Turismo 5 is the latest edition of the acclaimed driving series. The game is more for car enthusiasts as opposed to boy racers. With more than 1,000 cars, 20 tracks, such as the Mazda raceway and the Top Gear test track, and the huge variety of mo...
