The editors didn't like

  • Excessive cutscenes makes it feel like a directors cut
  • Game doesnt encourage sneaking as much as it could
  • Writing could be better (and boss fights
  • As noted)
  • Drebin fundamentally changes the core MGS experience
  • Metal Gear Online is hindered by a clunky interface and reliance on the PlayStation Network.
  • Storytelling is heavyhanded
  • The singleplayer experience ends.
  • At times you might feel like you want a little game with your cutscenes
  • But you can always skip the cutscenes if you just want to get back into the action. The load time of roughly 3 minutes between each act might annoy some players
  • Especially given the...
  • Eventually it has to end
  • Not enough gameplay
  • Cutscenes are a tad too long at times
  • That thing with the install time isn’t funny Kojima Productions (you’ll see what I mean).
  • Camera angle is a little awkward
  • Elements in the environment hinders snake’s ability to use a sniper rifle and even the Solid Eye. The game also has way too many flashbacks and zoom ins that often mute the important information during briefing sess...

  • Abstract:  The gaming world craves the IP. However there comes a time - about every three years - that the industry stops. It forgets about creating a new licence for gaming, it forgets about new ideas, like a vegetarian who wears leather shoes, it forgets about ...

  • Abstract:  Metal Gear Solid has been one of those series that you either really got into or could not stand. Dominating PS1 and PS2 sales charts, the series and its creator have become something of a Playstation icon over the past decade, so it seems fitting that...

  • Fantastic blend of stealth and action. Great dramatic story. Amazing graphics and very well directed in-game cutscenes. Varied and eye-popping environments. Lots of unlockable music and costumes. Great fan service.
  • Cutscenes may be too long for some. Boss fights while fun arent very challenging. Long and confusing sign-up process for multiplayer. We may never be seeing Solid Snake again.
