  • DOOM is by far one of the better XBLA titles available on the 360. While I don’t mind flashing back to the coin-ops titles of the 80’s I can much more relate to games from the 90’s, and it will be games like DOOM that will find their bes...

  • Frantic, fast-paced action; great sound effects and "classic" graphics; online co-op is wicked fun; scads of secrets to discover; Achievement Points are a welcome addition.
  • Widescreen support would have been nice; creating a private match is clunky.
  • DOOM for Xbox 360 is a must-have classic. If you consider yourself a shooter fan, you simply must get this game.

  • It could have been little more than an empty exercise in nostalgia for the thirtysomething crowd. Thankfully, Doom manages to blend in just enough 21st century tweaks to appeal to the kind of Modern Warfare-raised whippersnapper who thinks “shareware”...

  • Abstract:  Back in 1995, my friends and I were introduced to the wonderful world of LAN gaming at the local PC shop. With eight gorgeous Pentium PCs lined up, CRT monitors glowing endlessly, and cooling fans humming harmoniously in synchronicity, we knew then that o...

  • Abstract:  Shoot first, ask questions later… that's something you know if you played past Doom games, and this one shows respect and continues with the tradition. Doom was one of the fathers of the first-person shooter genre and just by listening to the name, the PC...

  • Looks fabulous, runs super-smoothly, weapons and demons better than ever, Glory Kills add more satisfaction, great weapon upgrade system, meaty and fulfilling single-player game
  • Multiplayer feels generic compared to single-player, takes longer than you'd expect before the bosses begin to appear
  • Whatever Bethesda may believe, and whatever the tastes of millennials, Doom is all about its single-player campaign, which is a blood-smattered brilliant beast of a game. It's extensive, insanely hectic, unbelievably satisfying, gloriously gory to...

  • The most exhilarating and intelligent expression of FPS in years, Multiplayer is endlessly playable, smart, brutal fun, SnapMap is powerful and accessible, and could lead to great content for years.
  • The campaign's opening hour holds back Doom's real scope and quality
  • Intelligent, involved, and relentlessly exhilarating, now, just as in '93, the most exciting FPS around is a game called Doom...

  • Abstract:  The original Doom was a carnival of overstatement. There's the ludicrous premise: Martian moons invaded by demons. There's the silent protagonist: a buzz-cut, space marine who sprints hyperactively through monotone corridors, firing shotgun rounds into th...

  • Fast gameplay, Knows what it is, Fresh multiplayer modes, Solid level editor
  • Extremely repetitive, Boring story, Too gory
  • Doom makes the gameplay of a 23-year-old video game feel new in 2016, which may be the greatest achievement of a video game this year. However, a great game finds new and interesting ways to enhance its strengths and mitigate its flaws. Doom does the fo...
