The editors liked Scavenge is a great new multiplayer mode New campaigns have better and more varied crescendo events Melee weapons are fantastic. Incredible cooperative and competitive multiplayer is brilliantly designed around the new maps Modes and enemies. Great graphics and sound Engaging characters Incredibly fun and challenging gameplay modes Terrific use of strategy keeps things interesting. ESRB rating Mature. Unique and fun campaigns with great characters New zombie types Better level design Melee weapons New modes are addictive New campaigns are very well designed Explosive new guns and deadly new melee weapons Scavenge mode is a great shortform Versus mode New survivors have more character And new infected have fun abilities Realism mode delivers a new level of tension. The editors didn't like AI teammates can be frustrating A lot less narrative than I expected. Wretched singleplayer A.I. makes solo game worthless and the original game's charismatic subtleties will be missed. Occasionally stilted frames Occasional crashes Multiplayer voice function could stand to be more consistent. Dumb survivor AI Bot AI is weak Feels vaguely familiar No major leaps forward in gameplay AI allies can still trip you up.
