The editors liked
Over the top shooter action
Pretty visuals
Good boss battles
Some of the most interesting level design and most dynamic firefights you'll ever experience. The environments are epic and the boost slide is awesome.
Great graphics
Fast paced
Fun gameplay
Neat set pieces
Tons of scifi movie / game references
Plus
Nonstop action
Great weapons
Great boss battles
AR mode
Sliding around and shifting into slow motion is a blast
A constant barrage of explosions
Bullets
And robots
Fantastic boss fights heat up the action
Smooth controls ensure an alwaysfair challenge
Frequent setpiece environments add flair and variety.
The editors didn't like
Voice acting
Gameplay can get stale
And too short for no multiplayer modes.
A thin story packed to bursting with cliches
A painful lack of what could have been a spectacular coop mode.
Ider that before you decide between a rental or purchase
But you definitely should play it. It is a fantastic game overall that is one of the best action games of the year. Vanquish is highly recommended

I'm on my knees, sliding as the plume of small jet engines ripping the air like a curse as I'm thrust along the floor at speed. Bullets fray the air and I narrowly miss the hulking robotic behemoth that threatens to crush my very existence by squeezing...
Abstract: It's questionable whether or not the dialogue of Vanquish was translated correctly. Never mind the dubbing, which is one step shy of atrocious. The various references to eBay, vibrators, and Roombas are wholly American in nature, taking away from what ...

Abstract: Pure entertainment: that's Vanquish in a nutshell. This speedy and thrilling third-person cover-based shooter is all madness, overwhelming you with gigantic robots, flurries of gunfire, and explosions so powerful and colorful that you might think you f...
Abstract: Classic, fast-paced action that rarely lets up.On the surface Vanquish looks like just another humdrum space shooter featuring a nameless protagonist that will get lost somewhere between the latest military shooter and party game compilation. However, ...
Abstract: Most of Vanquish is completely ridiculous. It's the good kind of the ridiculous though and really I only need to point to one feature that sums it all up. While in cover, hitting the left bumper, Sam Gideon, the dude in the exoskeleton armo...
Abstract: Platinum Games is a studio to admire. Its titles have never been huge sales successes, but the developer's status as a critical darling and a maker of great games, going right back to its Clover Studios roots, cannot be denied.Platinum Games is a stu...
Vanquish is a stylish, spectacular looking game with great gunplay and some stunning set pieces. Although the game's story and character development pale in comparison to the action, I had a great time with Vanquish from the in-game tutorial all the wa...
