Sounds so sweet
You'll want to rerip your entire music library into lossless files. Memory foam earpads block a ton of ambient noise. Go ahead and wear 'em in public — the lowprofile headphones won't make you look like a ham radio operat...
Exquisite sound
Impeccable design
Decadent comfort.
Awesome sound
Excellent build-quality
In-line mic and remote for controlling an iPod or iPhone. They look great. Absolutely amazing sound. Replaceable cables in case disaster strikes. Over-ear design offers passive noise cancellation. Neutral sound.
The editors didn't like
More support for other (non-Apple) microphone capabilities
Expensive
Expensive. Despite the claim
Offers no noise isolation.
Expensive for an on-ear pair
Expensive. Included cable lacks remote control
The on
Ear design can't give you pounding bass and doesn't protect from ambient noises
But it tries to by sitting very tightly your ear lobes.
Leather earpads will cause your ears to get steamy on warmer days
One small gripe
The tiny subearpad tab that holds the cable in its routing channel is poorly machined and sharp enough to cut the rubber cord jacket. Pricey? Yep. Worth it? No doubt.
300 list price renders them expensive
Tooshort cable.
The cord is wimpy and short. Headphones will be too heavy for some. Expensive.
Great design; excellent sound quality; sturdy and well-built; light and portable
Earpads can get warm on your ears; fit may not suit everyone, Convoy www.convoy.com.au
B&W’s P5 offers full-size sound quality and outstanding passive noise isolation in a truly portable headphone. While a good chunk of the $499 price tag surely goes towards the P5’s design, the result is much more than an attractive appearance: the P5’s...
Abstract: The P5 is the company's first Bluetooth model (there's also a cheaper P5 Series 2 that I haven't tried) and, like the other P models, its perky oblong earpads look as if they will leak sound like billyo – but actually don't – and perch on the head support...
B&W P5 Wireless headphones reviewB&W knows a thing or two about making top-quality speakers. The respected British company has already made a successful foray into the world of consumer tech with its headphones and AirPlay speakers (see our B&W A5 review)...
Excellent sound, Lovely design and build, Easy Bluetooth operation,
Nothing of note,
What's not to like about the B&W P5 Wireless? Not much, from what we can see and hear.Bowers & Wilkins has taken the excellent B&W P5 Series 2s and added a wireless option, and it works beautifully. Great sound and gorgeous design, minus the inconvenience...
Abstract: The P5 comes with two leads; one for normal use, one with an in-line microphone and controls for the iPhone. You can swap the leads around by removing one of the ear cups, which is held on magnetically. They sound smooth, clear and satisfyingly loud when ...
Sound is a bit too warm and thus less accurate, Sound is a bit limp, Not the most compact, lightweight headphones around
The P5 are a definitely good pair of headphones, but we were hoping they'd be excellent. That plus a few minor design issues (such as being bulky to carry around) ultimately cost these high-end headphones their fifth star....
Overall, the Bowers and Wilkins P5 headphones are an utter delight, but at £250, they're not for the shallow pocketed. Sonically, they deliver and appear built to last too. So if you're into sound that much, then the P5s are worthy of serious consider...
