Real, effective surround sound. Strong clean bass. Effective system control and switching
Insufficient adjustment range to balance subwoofer. Limited volume levels
The Philips Fidelio HTL9100 is a soundbar/subwoofer combo with detachable surround speakers, Bluetooth support and HDMI switching for full home theatre control....
Abstract: This soundbar's stand-out feature is that it can quickly, easily and wirelessly convert to a surround sound system by removing the battery-operated magnetised ends of the soundbar and placing them somewhere behind you. This is a stroke of genius, as it rem...

This is the perfect soundbar for people who want maximum sound with minimum fuss. Sure, you can get a 5.1-channel surround sound system and string it up around your house to turn the living room into the IMAX experience, but some people just can't be both...
Detailed sound, Good integration, Impressive power and scale, Innovative design that works
Nothing at this price
We really like this soundbar. It sounds great, it's versatile, and we think the surround-on-demand option is a really neat idea. If you want good sound without the hassle of trailing cables and fiddly set-ups, this is the way to go. ...

Sounds great, amps up TV sound, surround sound, plenty of volume, great as a Bluetooth speaker system, plenty of input types, easy satellite speaker recharge, easy setup, no on-screen menu faff
Very long and uses up space, satellite speakers need switching on and individual recharging, sounds thin without the sub, mid levels aren't as full as we'd like, no on-screen menu depth
It's hard to say a truly bad word about the Philips Fidelio Soundbar. It looks good, it sounds good, is super simple to set up and the modular satellite speaker experience is fun. There might not be the advanced on-screen adjustments that you may (...
Effective surround sound, Wireless subwoofer, Automatic switch virtual to surround, Easy to set up, Uncompressed audio
Expensive, Satellites need recharging, Requires wide AV furniture
Home cinema quality too often comes with cables galore, so Philips' stab at an all-in-one wireless wonder is a well-timed, even long overdue, innovation. It's so easy to set up it's unreal, while HDMI switching and Bluetooth streaming stretch its appeal....
Weak midrange, Some light distortion, Lack of fine detail
On one hand, the Fidelio is a beautiful, feature packed system with an innovative design, intuitive interface, and crystal clear sound. On the other, the audio performance was less than we expect from a system at this price, offering a watered-down midr...
Crisp, detailed and immersive sound, Clever, stylish design, Good feature list
No HD audio decoding, Cables stick upwards when wall mounted, Hard to read front panel
Philips' ingenious soundbar is the ideal solution for those who want true surround sound without the clutter. Its wireless speakers, chic design, polished sound and impressive spec justify the price tag...
