Passes through 4K Ultra HD content with HDR to a compatible TV
Simple set-up
Sleek design
The Samsung HW-K950 is one of the best sound bars we've ever heard for both movies and music. The dedicated rear speakers deliver increased immersion compared to single-speaker designs. It's cheaper than buying a Dolby Atmos receiver and speakers

It's a bit expensive
It's expensive for a sound bar
And DTS support is limited. Dolby Atmos is only available on a limited number of titles compared with other surround formats
Sporting four upward-firing speakers over a soundbar and two wireless surrounds, Samsung's flagship soundbar is easily one of the most practical, innovative audio products to come out of CES...
Supports 4K and 3D so the audio files on 4K and 3Ddiscs played via compatible devices will be decoded and played correctly, Excellent listening angle so you get a great sound that's clear even if you're not positioned directly in the centre, Features Dolb
Expensive, The sub woofer and rear speakers take up a fair amount of space and all require a plug socket to power them
Simple to use and with great sound quality, the Samsung HWK 950 has it all but it comes with a hefty price tag. That said, it's worth the investment if a good listening angle and support for 4K pass through and Dolby Atmos is a priority...
Even with normal Dolby Digital 5.1/7.1 sources, the K950 is the best soundbar I've heard. Add Dolby Atmos to the mix and you've got sound quality that simply has no right to be coming from such a compact, convenient and, all things considered, affordable
The absence of DTS multi-channel support is a pain, given how many DTS-sporting Blu-rays there are. You really have to commit to getting a Blu-ray/Ultra HD Blu-ray player that supports DTS to Dolby Digital conversion if you're going to buy the K950. Remem
Judged on sound quality alone, the K950 deserves a stone-cold 10 out of 10. It delivers Atmos soundtracks with the sort of authority, precision and soundstage scale you wouldn't imagine possible from such a compact package. It also sounds explosively bril...

Simple to setup, great quality audio, plenty of power, genuine immersive audio
No DTS Master Audio support
The Samsung HW-K950 offers an easy option for getting Dolby Atmos in your front room with minimal fuss. Saving you from the need to install ceiling speakers or anything else, you'll be up and running with Atmos in about 15 minutes. Offering 4K passthrough...
Atmos Blu-rays sound amazing, Completely wireless setup, Good support for streaming services
DTS soundtracks are decoded in stereo, Occasionally hissy rear speakers, Expensive for a soundbar
Despite all this, I'm a big fan of the HW-K950. Sonically, it's the most accomplished soundbar I've ever had the pleasure to clap ears on. It sounds equally at home with music as it does with movie surround-sound source material, and puts in a truly aweso...

Thrilling Dolby Atmos experience, Excellent matching of all components, Wireless, hassle-free surround sound, Rich and powerful bass, Thin enough to rest beneath your TV
Midrange can be flat and boxy, No DTS surround sound decoding, Wireless satellite speakers emit white noise
You'll pay handsomely for it, but Samsung's HW-K950 sound bar offers a thrilling Atmos experience that really must be heard to appreciate. If you've got to have real Atmos surround sound in a small package — and you don't mind dumping DTS:X — the HW-K...
Explosive large-scale movie sound, Refined tone with great composure, Immersive Atmos soundstage, Extensive feature list, Slick operation
Slightly overpowering bass, Hesitant NAS drive browsing, Expensive
Samsung's amazing Atmos soundbar system brings you immersive 3D sound while keeping clutter to a minimum, and delivers Samsung's best-ever sound quality in the process. Only the overzealous subwoofer lets the side down – and budget buyers need not apply...

Great audio performance, Impressive Dolby Atmos support, 4K/60p, HDCP 2.2 and HDR compliant, HDMI 2.0a inputs and output, Samsung Multiroom, Attractive design, Excellent construction, Wireless subwoofer and surrounds
Currently no DTS multi-channel support, Bass can be a bit heavy, More HDMI inputs would be nice
The Samsung HW-K950 is a fantastic audio product that delivers in every aspect of its carefully designed performance. The soundbar itself is attractive, with a minimalist appearance that doesn't draw attention to itself. The build quality is excellent and...
More HDMI inputs and room EQ, plus DTS decoding, would have been nice, but that doesn't stop Samsung's premium soundbar system from being a genuine delight. Dynamic, immersive sonics...
