Limited audio codec support. HD files are displayed in standard-def on the player—an optional dock is needed to view HD files on an HDTV or a PC. Very slim pickings in the App section of the Zune Marketplace.
Several years behind Apple when it comes to interface and app store. Music library still has some holes. No Macintosh software. Web browser is competent
But takes a while to render some pages. Onscreen keyboard for browser is horrid

The Zune HD delivers one of the best portable music and video experiences money can buy. At a time when many people have shifted their focus to games and applications, providing a killer media experience may not be enough for potential Zune buyers.
Abstract: The big question: Can the Zune HD compete with the iPod Touch? I get the sense that Microsoft isn't trying to, exactly. While the Touch and its apps are a multi use pocket computer, the Zune HD is an evolution of the PMP—not a devolution of some...

The Zune HD is a great little device. As a Personal Media Player it is hands down the best one I have used. The audio and video quality is amazing. Where it all breaks down is in the desktop software, not the actual software as that is well done, b...

One of the best media players out there. Its a great package, which works wonderfully with both the Zune software and Pass music subscription. It cant compete with the iPod Touch in terms of features but for music and video lovers its a joy.
Microsoft is definitely packing the punches in the battle for best touch portable media player and this is only the hardware. New apps, a variety of new music discovery features in the software and Zune's expansion into Xbox LIVE territory. Whether th...
