The editors liked

  • The Samsung Galaxy Player 4.2 offers most of the capabilities of Samsung's popular Android smartphones
  • Minus the phone and monthly fees
  • Large display
  • Expandable memory
  • Excellent battery life
  • Video chat and VoIP
  • Large
  • Roomy display
  • Easy access to the MicroSD card slot
  • Full access to the Android Market

The editors didn't like

  • Both the software and the processor are relatively old by smartphone standards. Parents should know there are no safeguards included to restrict access to age-inappropriate content
  • Feels a bit cheap and plasticky
  • Display colors are dull
  • Chunkier build than most pocketable devices
  • Battery takes a long time to charge fully
  • Poor audio quality

  • As an iPod touch alternative, the Galaxy Player 5 offers much to like - especially if you are already familiar with Android and have invested money in the ecosystem. Audio playback through the stock Samsung music app is of poor quality, but the Android...

  • In the last week that we've been using the Samsung Galaxy S WiFi 5.0 it was primarily a music player and a video player in bed. We used it every now and then for checking and updating social networks but we usually do that with our smartphones and laptops...

  • All the best parts of an Android smartphone, without the phone, Huge screen great for ebooks and movies, Good battery life for an Android device, GPS enabled, unlike its direct competitor the iPod Touch, Memory capacity expandable via MicroSD
  • Might be too big for smaller hands, TFT LCD screen quality isn't as nice as AMOLED, Front / rear facing camera quality isn't as good as it could be

  • Performance TestsBased on a platform powered by an ARMv7 processor with a maximum clock speed of 1GHz, the Galaxy S WiFi 5.0 performed decently on Quadrant Standard, scoring a few notches higher than the original Galaxy S smartphone. Logically, it is stil...

  • Tiene una pantalla de 5 pulgadas. Puedes descargar aplicaciones de Android Market. Permite ver videos y escuchar tus canciones favoritas.
