  • The BX580’s standout feature is its 3D compatibility: slide in a 3D Blu-ray and you’re rewarded with images invested with a beautiful sense of depth – although there’s nothing in the 3D performance to make this player preferable to other 3D Blu-ray decks. 2D image quality is superb, however, with vivid colours and razor-sharp detail from both Blu-ray movies and upscaled standard def DVDs. • With no secondary HDMI output and no analogue surround sound outputs, watchers of 3D Blu-rays will be stuck with standard def surround sound (unless they’re lucky enough to own one of the very newest AV receivers). The BX580 also takes a few seconds longer than most of its rivals when it comes to starting up a freshly-inserted Blu-ray disc, with 3D Blu-rays taking even longer.
  • The LG BX580 isn’t an exceptional Blu-ray player, but it does its job ably and offers a tempting range of extras.Best offers for the LG BX580 Blu-Ray PlayerAmazon Marketplace £214.49 PRC Direct £214.90 Laskys £227.64 Amazon UK £227.64 LG BX580 Blu-Ray ...

  • The BX580 has a lot going for it. It's teeming with tempting features, most notably 3D playback and built-in Wi-Fi, and a terrific range of networking features, plus its 3D performance is impressive – not quite as impressive as Panasonic's systems mind, b...

  • Stylish chassis, menus and remote, vibrant, sharp pictures with all types of disc, detailed upscaling, fast-paced audio
  • Less exciting than the best with 3D, overly enhanced 2D Blu-ray edges, audio could do with greater body

  • Abstract:  LG is very much in the front line for the big 3D push this year with both passive and active 3D TV solutions available. This is the brand’s first 3D Blu-ray player and it’s quite a looker. Designed to compliment LG’s narrow framed Infinia TVs, it sport...

  • This is a good player with some neat features, and is priced quite competitively at Rs. 16,990. However, it also has its fair share of shortcomings. I really like some of the features such as the MKV playback and hard drive support, as well as the ease...
