  • Excellent sound quality
  • Connections for nearly any A/V configuration
  • Internet connectivity via Ethernet
  • Blue LEDs are still cool

The editors didn't like

  • No HDMI/component cables included (BIG DISADVANTAGE)
  • No memory card reader
  • Lacks the overall aesthetics of the BDP1000
  • Doesnt take full advantage of the HDMI v1.3 standard upgrade
  • Expensive
  • Ongoing format war makes some titles unavailable on Blu-ray
  • No support for Dolby TrueHD or DTS-HD Master audio.
  • Firmware update was an unnecessary hassle
  • Slow disc loading is incredibly frustrating
  • Physically larger than I would have liked
  • Struggles with loading some Bluray Discs
  • Mildly irresponsive remote control
  • No “pillarbox” for 4
  • 3 SD content
