  • Abstract:  Until Blu-ray players started offering BD Live out of the box, the format felt like a work in progress, but now the trickle of BD Live-enabled players has started to flow more freely, with most manufacturers releasing a bevy of devices. The latest to j...

  • Abstract:  Both Blu-ray and DVD playback proved to be excellent, with bright, vibrant colours, rich, detailed insight into shadows, deep blacks and smooth movement. There's also BonusView for picture-in-picture viewing of BD-Live content, making this an extremely capable all-round budget player.

  • Samsung has beat Bang and Olufsen to the punch, with this world’s slimmest, wall-mountable Blu-ray player. Admittedly, B&O probably wouldn’t have it given it that weird ‘Touch of Colour’, but this is still one of the most striking...
  • Such an anorexic case leaves little room for ports, so you’ll have to do without component output or multiple audio sockets. The P4600 doesn’t have a YouTube or Netflix mode like other mid-range Blu-ray appearing on the market but we don&rsquo...

  • Attractive design; fast load times; easy to use; good picture and sound quality
  • Relatively expensive; lack of analogue audio outputs
  • Ultimately, the Samsung BD-P4600 may be sunk by its price. Sony and Panasonic both have excellent models on the market that cost less and have a more traditional form factor. But that's not to say the BD-P4600 isn't a great player, because it is. We l...
