  • Decent image quality, full HD,
  • Weak zoom, not very bright
  • The HD142X performs adequately all around, but doesn't particularly impress in any category. It has a place on the shelf as a cheap HD option, but there are other models that offer better image quality at the same price...

  • Somewhat lighter black levels and less-accurate color than some more-expensive competitors, no analog video inputs
  • The Optoma HD142X has an image so good, it'll be tough for price-conscious home theater fans to justify paying more for a projector...

  • The Optoma HD142X is one of the lowest priced 1080p home theater projectors on the market. It delivers a very bright, richly saturated, naturally color balanced image that some would enthusiastically describe as stunning. Optoma has done a great job in co...

  • As it should be with most projectors, the HD142X doesn't make a ton of strides to completely revolutionize the industry with a single product, but rather make steady, small improvements on all sides instead. It may not be immediately obvious why you would...

  • Contrast and shadow detail, Quiet operation, Long lamp life, Audio output
  • Basic mono speaker, Rainbow effect, Uninspired design, Rudimentary remote control
  • Versatile and with plenty of core technical quality, the HD142X is a highly impressive proposition for the money. Aside from its whopping 8,000 hour lamp life, there's nothing groundbreaking here, and the fact that it offers only a Full HD resolution may...
