The editors didn't like

  • Too many charging components
  • Limited to Samsung devices
  • Angle of screen is slightly awkward

  • The build is lovely and the design very smart. The screen is bright, beautifully customisable and it's generally a pleasure to wear.
  • The exercise end of the equation is a let down. The coaching is unreliable and it doesn't provide much of a training platform outside of the device
  • It doesn't do enough to justify its existence. It's a nice object with some fun features but just not useful enough for us to recommend it....

  • Premium design and build quality, excellent screen, fun to use, good to keep on top of health
  • Limited to working with Samsung Galaxy devices only, two to three day battery life, not everyone will like the design

  • Abstract:  SAMSUNG unveiled the Gear Fit at Mobile World Congress in February , claiming it is the "world's first" curved wearable device in a bid to make it more comfortable. Launching in the UK on 11 April, we've been putting the ...

  • Good looking (for a smartwatch), Decent build quality, Curved display is bright, Battery should last up to 3 days
  • Time display very unrealiable, Lacks GPS tracking, Can't see long texts, S Health app is not user friendly, Doesn't automatically detect sleep or excercise
  • This is a smartwatch/fitness tracker that falls short on what it promises. The Gear Fit does have a lovely screen, easy-to-use user interface and will fit most people’s wrist, but it has too many issues. It’s heading in the right direction but is not yet...

  • Gorgeous curved Super AMOLED screen, Notifications work for all apps, Silky smooth scrolling, Easy to use software interface, Cool heart-rate monitor
  • Long screen is awkward to use, Plastic strap is cheap, Charging dongle is awkward, Pedometer is inaccurate, Fitness features are half-baked
  • The Gear Fit is a gorgeous piece of tech, and has an effective interface, but underneath the shimmer and gloss, it's a mid-rate smartwatch and a poor fitness tracker. If getting phone notifications on your wrist is worth $200 (and you own a Galaxy phone...

  • No. Absolutely not. This incredibly promising device is utterly ruined by bad software. Also, it's £180. If Samsung does a major software overhaul—and I mean from the ground up—then it could be a great device. But for now, the fact that it only works with...

  • Unique curved screen, Light weight, Good battery life, music control and notifications
  • Unresponsive screen, Unreliable heart-rate tracking, Awkward ergonomics
  • VERDICT Open Gallery When we first saw the Samsung Gear Fit, we saw a light, wearable fitness device with a unique curved screen and the ability to work seamlessly with Samsung phones. What we got was a light, but quite bulky, wearable device. It...

  • Part smartwatch, part fitness tracker, Very, very pretty, Smartwatch notifications are nicely done
  • Needs a supported Samsung device, Requires two apps to use fully, Short battery life
  • I really enjoyed fiddling with the Gear Fit in the first few days that I tested it – lifting my arm quickly to turn on the screen and see the time, swiping through the screens, taking my heart rate every so often – but a few frustrations and disappointme...

  • Attractive curved screen and good looks, lightweight, changeable strap, water and dust proof
  • Leather strap option would have been nice, no option to add thirdparty apps, no option to filter messages, accelerator doesn't always activate screen when you move
  • The Samsung Gear Fit manages that difficult hat trick of being genuinely useful, while being technically advanced and actually desirable. It passes the test as a smart-looking and smart-acting watch, but also packs in a range of health-related data gath...
