Drone Review
DJI Phantom 4
The Obstacle Sensing System only sees things in front of the drone. You still need a tablet or phone ready to go along with the controller and drone battery. Extra batteries are expensive. Landing gear and camera are fixed to the body
So you can't collap
Form factor is basically unchanged from earlier models
Pricey
True mission planning requires third-party app
Only comes with one battery
Collision avoidance is not foolproof
Some modes disable collision avoidance
Flight modes are confusing
Occasionally catches sight of itself in video
Still no controller display screen
Needs external display
Camera and gimbal can't be removed so no camera upgrade or change

Excellent quality footage; intuitive app and controls; sleek and polished design
Only shipped with one battery; propellers obscure footage at high speeds; object tracking isn't always accurate
Obstacle detection and automatic modes means it practically flies itself, Still the easiest drone to use, even in Sport mode, Fantastic camera and an even better gimbal
Low light still a challenge, Lack of model choice
Without actually being able to fly it out in the open, we're not ready to pass judgment on the Phantom 4 just yet, but from what we've seen it's shaping up to be a worthy replacement for the Phantom 3. The tweaked looks, faster top speed and improved cam...

Abstract: We had DJI's (at that time) most advanced drone, the Phantom 4 in the office the other day. What do we do before we play with it? We opened the box of course. Inside the box you get the drone, not attached to the 5350mAh battery included in the package. T...
