  • Very reliable hands-free service that integrates into a wide variety of applications. The Plantronics M1100 Savor headset is extremely comfortable to wear and use over extended periods. The combination of the headset and Vocalyst service make hands
  • Comfortable to wear
  • And stays put once fitted. Sounds good in the earpiece. Voice-driven interface in two directions. Includes A2DP streaming.
  • The Savor M1100 is stuffed with all the tech features expect of a topoftheline Bluetooth headset
  • And especially good value at $80
  • A2DP for musicstreaming
  • Multipoint for hotswapping between two different devices
  • Noisecancelling technology and most no
  • This Bluetooth headset comes with Vocalyst
  • A service that will read aloud and send both texts and emails
  • Simple
  • Easy-to-find controls
  • Sophisticated voice-triggered services
  • The Plantronics Savor M1100 is small

The editors didn't like

  • The Vocalyst service comes at a monthly or annual subscription cost. If you are a ‘light’ user it may not be worth the longterm added expense
  • But if you find yourself needing to respond to urgent messages behind the wheel or doing any task
  • The $25
  • Iffy noise cancellation despite the 3-mic design. Vocalyst services are too expensive. Fiddly volume control. Short battery life.
  • The most annoying problem with the Savor was its power switch. Carting the headset around in a pocket or bag would almost guarantee something would jostle the switch into the on position.
  • The Vocalyst service is free for one year
  • But there is a small charge associated with it after a year.
  • Vocalyst recordings not as clear as phone calls
  • Not as loud as comparable headsets at top volume
  • The Plantronics Savor M1100 only has a single volume button. The Vocalyst service is only free for the first year
  • Plus you have to upgrade to the Pro level to get the speech-to-text feature

  • With its stylish design and support for advanced vocal commands, the Savor M1100 is a capable headset intended for people who savour sophisticated communications. If you become attached to the voice services, though, you'll need to pony up extra bucks...

  • Abstract:  Both new models are priced at $99, and as ever it comes down to fashion and usability as to which should get your credit card details. The Voyager Pro+ remains our choice for battery life and overall performance in difficult environments; we also prefer the fit of its over-the-ear design. It’s hardly discrete, however, and the Savor M1100 is smaller, weighs half as much and – unless you’re in a particularly noisy place – can keep up with...

  • Sleek, subdued design. Great audio quality. Voice controls and feedback
  • Single volume button. Vocalyst service is intriguing, but not practical yet
  • The Savor is another great Bluetooth headset from Plantronics, even if its Vocalyst service value-add is a bit off the mark....
