Good sound quality. Effective voice recognition. Reads SMS and e-mail messages aloud (with companion smartphone apps). Easy to use.
The S4's voice trigger grants users access to most of the speakerphone's functions without physically touching the device. "What can I say?" command practically eliminates the need for an instruction manual. Imported contacts' caller ID info is read aloud

"Messages on the Go" only works with BlackBerry and Android 2.x smartphones.
Touch-sensitive controls can be distracting
Outgoing calls using the device sounded faint
Text-to-speech only works with Android and BlackBerry phones. A few bugs.
The S4 lacks a built-in voice dialer
So if the paired phone doesn't have its own voice dial system (e.g. Android)
Calls must be manually initiated. In louder vehicles
The S4 had difficulty understanding our voice commands
The S4 does afford truly hands-free operation; something that is becoming of greater importance as legislation banning the use of handheld devices while driving has come into effect in virtually every Canadian province (and some U.S. states as well.) ...
