The editors liked

  • Quickly switch between photos and video recording. Small iFrame video files. Great stills for a dual-purpose device.
  • Excellent camcorder
  • Wide range of functionality
  • Every connection option under the sun.
  • Small and light
  • Easy to operate
  • Shoots on cheap memory cards
  • Good microphone
  • Small (ish) form factor (fits into jacket pocket)

The editors didn't like

  • Zoom speed is too fast
  • And can’t be adjusted. Manual focus adjustment disables once you start shooting video.
  • Pistol grip not ideal for photos
  • Only records to MPEG4
  • Expensive.
  • Non-HD quality not great
  • Vocal prompts from the camera itself begin to grate after a while

  • Superb video and stills. Manual features. Connectivity
  • Pistol-style grip. No SD card supplied

  • Simple, easy to use, Full HD looks crisp and impressive
  • Basic in its feature set, youll need a powerful computer to edit the footage, youll need a big SD card
  • If the price was slightly lower, which it no doubt will be online, this is one still worth a closer look...
