The editors didn't like
Stare too long at high-def video shot with a Lensbaby Composer and you may have an acid flashback.
Manual focus ring is too loose
Aperture inserts not practical in the field
Learning curve (manual controls) for beginners
Takes lots of practice to shoot at a quick pace.
Not recommended for the true beginner
Aperture discs are small and could get lost
If your camera doesn’t support the aperture priority setting it’s a LOT more work (tried on a Nikon D3000 to see)
Aperture discs tend to go missing pretty easily if you're not careful

Good construction, Produces effects you won't find in another product
Manual focus, Awkward light metering on some cameras, Manual aperture
The Lensbaby is a hard product to review, because its' usefulness is determined in a large part by the user. If you are the type of person who likes the artistry of photography and doesn't mind spending a considerable amount of time setting up a shot t...

Challenges the way you see the world, A lot of fun to use, Innovative system in a relatively inexpensive package
Steep learning curve
Is it toy or is it a proper photographic tool? Despite the steep learning curve, based on the pictures the Lensbaby produced it definitely falls into the latter category. If youre prepared to get into the nitty gritty of fiddling with manual exposure...
