The editors didn't like

  • Stare too long at high-def video shot with a Lensbaby Composer and you may have an acid flashback.
  • Manual focus ring is too loose
  • Aperture inserts not practical in the field
  • Learning curve (manual controls) for beginners
  • Takes lots of practice to shoot at a quick pace.
  • Not recommended for the true beginner
  • Aperture discs are small and could get lost
  • If your camera doesn’t support the aperture priority setting it’s a LOT more work (tried on a Nikon D3000 to see)
  • Aperture discs tend to go missing pretty easily if you're not careful
  • Expensive
  • Need to be able to manage manual DSLR settings
  • No automatic light metering on Nikon cameras
