前編でも指摘したように，Coffee Lake-SはRyzenの登場という大きなプレッシャーを受けたIntelが，慌てて市場投入してきたCPUと評されることが多い。それは確かに真実だろう。また，慌てたからこそ，発表されたのに日本市場で店頭に並ばないほど製造が間に合っていないのだと思われるが，「慌てて出した」割にはコア数に比例した性能が出るようチューニングできているあたり，Coreマイクロアーキテクチャのモジュールデザインはやはり優秀であり，また，資本と人的資源の豊富さはさすがといったところだろうか。一方... Read the full review »

i7-8700Kで最大値を記録したのはPCMark 10で，135.5Wとなった。この値はRyzen 7 1800Xなど比較対象を含め，今回のテスト中の最大だ。ただ，それ以外のテストだとi7-8700KはRyzen 7 1800X以下のピーク値に収まっており，全体で見るとRyzen 7 1800Xより扱いやすそうな印象は受ける。一方，i5-8400のピーク値はi7-7700Kに対して大きかったり小さかったりで，総合的には同程度と言っていいかと思う。多くのテストでi7-7700Kに及ばないスコアを出していた... Read the full review »

問題は日本国内における価格だ。初出価格から考えると、Core i7-7800Xが5万円強でCore i7-7700Kが4.7万円なので、その間をとって4.8～4.9万円ということも十分ありえそうだが、現在前者は4.7万円、後者は4.1万円程度まで値下がっているので、案外その中間の4.3～4.5万円ぐらいで販売することも考えられる。流通量も影響すると思うが、ご祝儀価格も十分にあり得る。しかし、ただでさえライバルメーカーが“おま国価格”（日本特有の流通マージンを多めに乗せた価格）で揉めたことを考えると、そう無... Read the full review »
