The editors liked

  • Surveillance add-on supported on all ReadyNAS devices
  • Doesn't require a dedicated recording platform
  • ReadyNAS can still host shares as normal
  • Very easy to setup and operate
  • Supports most Tier 1 camera vendors
  • Digital pantiltzoom functions are a nice touch
  • Playback functions are very versatile

The editors didn't like

  • No free camera license included for home environment
  • Motion detection must be enabled at camera
  • 30 day trial but no free license
  • Motion detection notifications don't include a preview or any sort of notification link
  • Live Viewer can be a bit problematic
  • Only 32bit IE 8 or 9 is supported
