  • Overall, there’s a lot to like about GarageBand ’11—it easily represents the best value in the musical-software world, and the moment you hit its creative ceiling, it’s easy to take your projects directly into Logic Express, the next step up in power...

  • New drummer feature; supports iCloud
  • Crashes some older Macs; In app purchase may cost in spite of being a prior user; Interface not as user-friendly as it should be
  • Despite teething problems, Apple's update to GarageBand for Mac pushes firmly ahead with the streamlining agenda for multi-level applications. If the redesign of iMovie in 2007 and more recently FCP X are anything to go by, elements of the high-end functi...

  • GarageBand 11 is a great software tool for getting started with learning to play an instrument, and composing music. And it is a pretty good podcast editor, too. More advanced players and music makers will soon come up against limitations, but that's fair...
