The editors liked

  • The iGrillmini has a temperature range of -22 to 572 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Which is wider than most
  • Easy to setup
  • Works well/simple to use
  • Gives both visual and remote notifications
  • Excellent app/presets
  • The size and portability is amazing
  • And the iDevices recipes option has me wishing I went to culinary school
  • The iGrill Mini is simple to set up on your iOS device. It lets you cook your food to temp without the bother of having to check on its progress manually.
  • Smal
  • Easy setu
  • Long temperature probe
  • Sends notifications to your phone when your dish is done. Reliable preset temperature options. Allows you to set timers. Accurate temperature readings.
  • Very easy to achieve great results on the barbecue
  • Tell the app what you're cooking
  • And it will tell you when your food is done
  • Relatively inexpensive

The editors didn't like

  • The iGrillmini lacks a display and uses your smartphone or tablet screen instead
  • IOS only/no Android or Windows mobile support
  • Wireless range was under 100 ft for my use
  • Maybe included a few more grips for the thermometer prong
  • Since these will tend to be worn out quickly
  • IDevices claims that its probe has a 150-foot range via Bluetooth Smart
  • But I had connectivity issues at shorter distances. I wish it had a backup charger for those times when you don't have a CR2032 coin battery handy.
  • IOS only
  • No display or alarm sound. Ineffective status lights
  • Requires you to pierce the meat you're cooking
  • Monitors only one piece of meat at a time

  • The iGrillmini does its job well, but it relies entirely on your smartphone or tablet. This isn't necessarily a problem, but it would be nicer if the base station had a small display. Overall though, the thermometer is extremely easy to use and offers muc...
