The editors liked

  • All the clever fun of SimCity with less difficulty.
  • Complex without being arcane or obscure
  • SimCity is a great introduction to the genre. Watching a well-planned city run on its own is satisfying and rewarding.

The editors didn't like

  • Controls arent precise
  • Rarely have characters been this ugly.
  • Empty regions make SimCity’s heavy use of multiplayer annoying
  • And a flicker in Internet connection will lead to lost progress and wasted time. Busy menus are a chore to navigate for the first few hours.

  • User interface issues aside, SimCity is a lightweight, accessible simulation for the kind of new audiences franchise reboots usually target. 1 of 6 SimCity View the full image Leave plenty of room for City Hall expansions – you'll need a separate w...

  • Eric: We're divided on a few issues. I like what the region play has to offer, and you haven't found that it adds to the game. I like the specialization, while you'd like a bit more room to move. One thing's clear, though: even if a few things have change...

  • Abstract:  The first time you play SimCity should be a moment you remember for the rest of your life. The fascination that grows as you realise the connection you have to those poor souls living down in your metropolis, is a unique and compelling game experience....

  • Abstract:  SimCity on the Nintendo DS seems to make logical sense. The design of the system is right, and the game is tried and true. Electronic Arts made sure that it kept the portable city builder as close to the grander PC versions as possible. So far so good....

  • Abstract:  Wed all like to fancy ourselves amateur civil engineers, cocking a snook at ill-advised construction projects, complicated rezoning ordinances, and downright maddening tax laws. After all, who doesnt think they could manage a city better than those s...
