  • Some very creative level design; fun and satisfying 2D platforming gameplay; great artistic style; challenging without being overly frustrating; plays just like the original Yoshi’s Island.
  • Feels like a watered down version of the original Yoshis Island; the "Dead Zone" between the two screens can cause some frustration; not that big of a leap in graphics.
  • For those expecting more of the same platforming greatness that they found in the original Yoshis Island, youll most likely love this game. For those expecting more of an evolution of an 11 year old game, you may be somewhat disappointed.

  • Abstract:  The story – never really the focus in Mario games – once again takes place on the peaceful Yoshi’s Island. Having rescued Baby Mario and Luigi from the clutches of Kamek and Baby Bowser (as documented in the original Yoshi’s Island...

  • Abstract:  As one would expect with a Nintendo published platformer that uses one of their franchise characters, Yoshi’s Island DS is a very colorful game. Some of the levels have a very pastel look and each level is cleverly drawn. Of course the game is 2D ba...

  • However, despite small annoyances, Yoshis Island 2 is fun and light-hearted play. A tongue of praise to Yoshis Island 2 for not only remaining true to the classical style but also adding new elements to keep things fresh.
