The editors liked

  • TDP and power draw is almost unbelievable at 150W for such a high-performance GPU
  • Using only one 8-pin PCIe cable
  • In contrast the Fury X requires two 8-pin cables
  • Overclockability is very good so far – GPU Boost 3.0 works with the Precision X overcloc
  • The EVGA GTX 1060 3GB beats the Red Devil RX 470 overall in performance at a similar price
  • With one 6-pin PCIe connector
  • TDP and power draw are good and it is quiet in comparison to the reference GTX 1060 Founders Edition. ACX 2.0 cooling is very effect
  • The EVGA GTX 1080 FTX beats the more expensive Founders Editon in performance
  • And it beats its Fury X competitor in every benchmark at a similar price
  • TDP and power draw are good and it is very quiet in comparison to almost any other high-performance vi
  • Gorgeous graphics and art
  • Large
  • Open level design that encourages exploration
  • A wide variety of enemies to take on.
  • Fantastic visuals that present a unique mix of the natural and the industrial
  • Each weapon
  • Including the new bow
  • Is a pleasure to shoot
  • Open levels and nanosuit powers provide combat flexibility
  • Entertaining multiplayer modes.
  • Topnotch production values
  • Interesting weapon variety
  • Meaty multiplayer.

The editors didn't like

  • The video memory at 3GB limits the GTX 1060 to 1920×1080 resolution
  • PrecisionX OC refused to launch for us after activation. We probably left overclocking performance on the table by setting our overclock manually by being unable to use the advanced overclocking features it offers
  • Cliched storyline
  • Campaign feels relatively brief
  • Does a poor job at explaining what occurred after Crysis 2.
  • Remarkably easy
  • All the way to the end
  • Lacks the standout battles of earlier games in the series
  • AI is easily exploited
  • Singleplayer campaign is unchallenging
  • Multiplayer community is small.

  • Abstract:  Throughout my time with Crisis 3, I couldn't shake the feeling that I was trapped inside of a Hollywood film. This became especially true during the more predictable moments of the script. At one point in the campaign, my partner and I, a man called Ps...

  • Here, I'm going to unrepentantly geek out over texturing and reflections. One of the most frustrating things about game development's "Console first" approach is the way certain textures and surfaces end up looking like crap on a modern GPU. This is a ...

  • Abstract:  I'm the first to admit I'm not a fan of the FPS genre, but I do make an exception with the Crysis series. The reason that I manage to enjoy this specific series is that it resolves the one main issue that I have with the FPS genre; the genre typically tre...
