The editors liked

  • Excellent over-the-top fighting. Moves at a silky 60 frames per second. Game saves to cart
  • So there's no need for a memory card. Smooth battles over Wi-Fi.
  • Indepth story mode
  • Revamped control system makes it easy to pick up and play
  • Huge amount of content to unlockeven more than the console versions
  • Challenge Tower minigames and challenges are lots of fun
  • Viciously brutal moves.

The editors didn't like

  • Bottom Line
  • NetherRealms brings the violent
  • Hard-hitting Mortal Kombat to the PS Vita with tons of new features (and console DLC) that will appeal to any MK fan
  • Tag team combos ruined by placement of the tagswitch command
  • Shao Kahn is incredibly cheap.

  • If you weren't a fan of the franchise's reboot last year, then Mortal Kombat on Vita isn't likely to convert you. The new bonus challenge tower represents the main addition from last year, so if you weren't sold on the challenges the first time around,...

  • Abstract:  When the reboot of Mortal Kombat launched in April of last year, it was clear the series was back in a huge way. The game went back to the 2D style of the classic entries, fatalities were ultra-violent again, and there was seemingly endless content t...

  • Abstract:  Chances are you've heard of this violent fighting game. One filled with limb chopping, head decapitation, and gallons and gallons of blood spilling everywhere. That's right, Mortal Kombat, one of the most impressive fighting games of 2011, that had anothe...

  • Abstract:  Who knew Mortal Kombat would be so confusing? Last year, Warner Bros. Interactive released the ninth installment in the popular Mortal Kombat series. But instead of calling it Mortal Kombat 9, they instead chose to shave off any number and subtitles ...

  • Abstract:  I didn't think it fair to review Mortal Kombat for Vita without referencing the following key paragraph from our original review, which was written a little over a year ago by fighting game savant Neidel Crisan: "With just under 30 characters to try ou...
