The editors didn't like

  • Constant busywork interludes that seem designed to show off the Vita's control options
  • Touchscreen controls that feel shoehorned in
  • For the most part

  • Jaw-droppingly gorgeous graphics, superb voice acting, great plot with more twists and turns than an Italian mountain range, both shooting and platform elements are masterfully presented
  • No multiplayer, may be too involving for a quick bus ride, new control methods are gimmicky but thankfully optional
  • Although there have been some corners cut from delivering an exact PS3 Uncharted-style experience, they’re barely noticeable. Not only is this PS Vita-only entry a worthy chapter in the franchise, it’s a fantastic flag bearer for the console itself. Un...

  • Dazzling graphics come close to PS3 quality, Same storytelling and production values as the console games, Innovative use of PS Vita features
  • Vita features can feel intrusive and gimmicky, Can't match the exhilirating high points of the PS3 games
  • Uncharted: The Golden Abyss doesn't quite reach the lofty heights of the best Uncharteds, but it's still an enthralling blockbuster and a hugely promising showcase for the power of Playstation Vita. If you're investing in Sony's new handheld, this is a mu...

  • Abstract:  Published January 16th 2012. Written by Dominic Sheard. The Uncharted franchise has increasingly become one of the highlights of playing videogames for me. I love the sheer excitement those games build up as I immerse myself in an (almost) Hollywood a...

  • Abstract:  Set before the first Uncharted game, but without being a true prequel, we join Drake as he works with Dante, a man of questionable morals. They are looking for treasure in old ruins allegedly belonging to the Kuna people (I wonder if they know that the Ku...

  • Great graphics, Best third person action adventure game on a handheld, Trophy hungry gamers have a lot to look out for, Production value to match a summer blockbuster, Well-paced gameplay between traversing, action and puzzles
  • Low replay value, Story gets a bit boring in the middle, Some touch controls can get frustrating, No multiplayer
  • Uncharted Golden Abyss is a fantastic game with production quality we have come to love from its console counterparts. The lifespan is about 10 hours and there is enough to keep you hooked throughout the journey apart from a few frustrating touch controls...

  • Abstract:  The PlayStation Vita may not have the best software lineup on the planet but it does have a solid contender in the form of Uncharted: Golden Abyss. Like its console brethren, it’s Sony’s perfect first party launch vehicle to showcase not only the gra...

  • Great looking graphics; engaging story with interesting characters; fully utilises PS Vita's controls.
  • Touch controls make platforming too easy.
