  • Lots of variety
  • Including boss fights and vehicle sections
  • Harder difficulties add new objectives
  • Striving for par times makes you play the game in a new way

The editors didn't like

  • Motion controls are a little unresponsive.
  • Default control layouts are often sluggish
  • Some frustrating segments with no shooting in the single-player mode
  • Some Wii tracking/recovery issues.
  • Hardware limitations lead to some visual concerns and lack of immersion
  • Campaign subobjectives can cause headaches
  • Online team modes would've been better with higher player cap.
  • Poor storytelling. No multiplayer chat
  • Should the new GoldenEye 007 for the Wii have simply ported the design of the original 1997 classic N64 game of the same name
  • Or was it better to create a new game with more uptodate gameplay? I don’t know
  • And more importantly
  • I don’t care
  • I never played the N64 game and cannot say whether
  • As some claim
  • It is a classic that shouldn’t be tamper
  • Quicktime events and unskippable cutscenes are obtrusive
  • No WiiSpeak support.
  • Hmmm...no Pierce Brosnan.

  • Abstract:  The re-imagining of a classic. As long as you are not one of those gamers that consider PlayStation 2 old-school gaming, you have more than likely heard of GoldenEye for the N64. People still discuss and play this game, and plenty have been dying for a ...

  • I can understand there’s a bit of resistance to the idea that GoldenEye 007 on Wii is anything but a cash-in for Activision, but believe it when I say that this game is one of the best Wii games of the year. Things might have changed in the last 15 yea...

  • Abstract:  Throughout gaming history, it is easy to point out what titles either revolutionized or completely created whole new genres. The console first-person shooter, particularly when discussing multiplayer, owes it all to one amazing title: Gold...

  • Abstract:  It’s a Bond-tastic day for Activision and fans of the 007 franchise, especially if those fans happen to be from the old-school of gaming back when N64 and 4-way, split-screen gaming was giving birth to multiplayer first-person shooters, long before bro...

  • Abstract:  GoldenEye 007 for the N64 holds a very special place in my gaming psyche. It’s not the best game by a long shot and it hasn’t aged well, but I’m not ashamed to say that it’s probably my favorite game ever, for a lot of reasons that aren’t related to it...

  • Abstract:  Re-imagining a game like GoldenEye 007, a game that single-handedly defined an era of console gaming, seems like a daunting task. On one hand, those who played the original back in 1997 would likely thumb their noses at a remake that totally abandons i...

  • A little over thirteen years ago a development studio named Rare came out of the shadows and produced what is still regarded as one of the greatest games of all time. That game is of course GoldenEye on the N64. For years gamers have clamored for mor...

  • Abstract:  In the console world, there is one first person shooter that is held in high regard above others and that game is Goldeneye, one of the most influential games of the last century... 1997 to be precise. Goldeneye on the Nintendo 64 (N64) basically made...

  • Awesome four-way splitscreen multiplayer with multitudes of variations, why don’t all FPS’ include this? A faithful rendition of the original with a new coat of paint.
  • Enemy AI that doesn’t deserve to have the ‘I’ in it at all. No voice chat online.
