The editors liked

  • Great voice acting
  • Online multiplayer
  • Updated storyline
  • Different control schemes
  • Very satisfying "creep and pop" action
  • Great online modes and character leveling
  • High control customizability.
  • Great online multiplayer suite for Wii gamers
  • Solid and wellcrafted campaign
  • Plays well with Classic Controller Pro or Wii Remote/Nunchuk duo.
  • Good stealth. Good multiplayer.
  • Great mix of stealth and action sequences
  • Lots of variety
  • Including boss fights and vehicle sections
  • Harder difficulties add new objectives
  • Striving for par times makes you play the game in a new way
  • Multiplayer is fun both online and offline.
  • Plays well with a number of controller configurations. Multiplayer works really well
  • Both online and on the couch.

The editors didn't like

  • Motion controls are a little unresponsive.
  • Default control layouts are often sluggish
  • Some frustrating segments with no shooting in the single-player mode
  • Some Wii tracking/recovery issues.
  • Hardware limitations lead to some visual concerns and lack of immersion
  • Campaign subobjectives can cause headaches
  • Online team modes would've been better with higher player cap.
  • Poor storytelling. No multiplayer chat
  • Should the new GoldenEye 007 for the Wii have simply ported the design of the original 1997 classic N64 game of the same name
  • Or was it better to create a new game with more uptodate gameplay? I don’t know
  • And more importantly
  • I don’t care
  • I never played the N64 game and cannot say whether
  • As some claim
  • It is a classic that shouldn’t be tamper
  • Quicktime events and unskippable cutscenes are obtrusive
  • No WiiSpeak support.
  • Hmmm...no Pierce Brosnan.

  • Abstract:  For many people, Goldeneye represented the best game of the Nintendo 64's era. Forget Mario 64 and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Those may have been instant classics, but if you wanted a hardcore experience with plenty of shooting and an unforgett...

  • Overall, GoldenEye 007 is a great remake of a classic title for the N64. The sad part is that the worst parts of the game are all items they changed from the original game’s formula. Had they stuck with those features this game would be virtually flaw...

  • Abstract:  At first it seemed like Activision had stumbled upon a sure-fire winner in the decision to resurrect GoldenEye 007 for the Wii. Surely the revival one of the most important and cherished console games of all time was a no-brainer? But as time wore on, ...

  • Abstract:  Long before Halo. Long before Call of Duty. Long before that shooter that inspired Call of Duty (what was its name? Medal of something?), there was a console game that changed the way players looked at first-person shooters. It made us realize that you...

  • Abstract:  Color me surprised by Goldeneye on the Wii; it's certainly a much better game than I ever would have given it credit for if I had not played it. When it was announced I shrugged it off as a simple way for Activision to cash in on the name of a game tha...

  • Abstract:  Gamers worldwide have been begging for a remake of GoldenEye ever since this generation of consoles kicked off in 2005 with the release of the Xbox 360. Well, after five years of waiting, Activision was able to find a way to bring it exclusively to th...

  • Abstract:  I distinctly remember the first time I saw GoldenEye 007 being played on an N64. It was in my sophomore year in college and while I had owned consoles when I was younger, I had not purchased the N64 for a number of reasons. It was expensive; I was in...

  • Great voice acting, online multiplayer, updated storyline, different control schemes,
  • Motion controls are a little unresponsive.
  • Activision and Eurocom have delved into the retro vault and have chosen to resurrect the Nintendo 64 classic, Goldeneye 64. Goldeneye Wii is more then just an upgraded version of the original - it is a reimagination of the entire story to make the ac...

  • Abstract:  For years, fans have been clamoring for a high-definition re-release of the Nintendo 64 classic, Goldeneye. With Rare working exclusively with Microsoft, the chances of that ever coming true were extremely thin. Though there had been rumblings and rumo...
