The editors liked

  • Great animations
  • Fun combat
  • Different suits bring different styles to Spidey.
  • Great original story
  • Fun
  • Accessible combat system
  • Swinging around the city is a delight
  • Good variety of enemies and mission objectives
  • Some memorable boss fights.
  • Great story
  • Easy to learn combat
  • The ability to switch between red and black suits
  • Swinging through a wartorn New York is at least a treat on the eyes. Depending on your moral alignment and whether or not the game engine is in the right mood
  • You can sometimes summon an ally to help battle

The editors didn't like

  • Camera issues
  • Repetitive objectives
  • Visual glitches.
  • Occasional technical issues with graphics and sound
  • Camera occasionally comes unstuck.
  • Sporadic camera
  • Weak voice acting
  • SpiderSense can hinder some moments
  • Camera occasionally buggers out of control. Some missions will start to glitch up should you fail… which at best simply means that the marker indicating where to go will be slightly offplace
  • And at worst
  • Will prevent you from triggering a necessary quicktime event and force you to restart the console.

  • Abstract:  All of you wondering about Spider-Man: Web of Shadows have followed the ups and downs of recent games concerning the wall-crawler. Most of those games have been based on the film franchise in recent years. That can be both a good and a bad thing, dependin...

  • Web of Shadows is a game that players are going to try really hard to like, but it will try even harder to make you hate it. The core mechanics are great, and the makings of a potentially great Spider-Man game are here, but everything that surrounds Sp...

  • Even with its flaws Spider-Man: Web of Shadows is a fun beat-em-up game. The combos you unlock in the second half of the game are really fun to execute and the overall feeling of being Spider-Man is really well done. The campaign is only 7 to 10 hours...

  • Spiderman - Web of Shadows is a MUST RENT before making that purchase. I know that renting a video game is not the cheapest thing in the world, but the 8 to 10 dollars that you spend on the rent is a lot better than the 60 dollars that you might waste...

  • Abstract:  You would think that a universe as rich and deep as Spider-Man's would translate well to the world of interactive video games. Yet for some strange reason Activision has had nothing but problems lately bringing this comic book character to the game con...

  • Abstract:  Much like their cinematic counterparts, super hero based video games have always been a hit or miss proposition. Far too often legions of dedicated fans have been presented with games that despite the great intentions of the designers, fail to capture...

  • Abstract:  Overall, the visuals in Web of Shadows for the Xbox 360 are stunning and a significant upgrade from the graphics seen in Friend or Foe. From the awesome looking characters to the New York City backdrop the game really looks great. For starters the char...

  • Abstract:  Spider-Man: Web of Shadows starts off promising with nice visuals, interesting combat, a decent web swinging mechanic, and a cool story. And for the first couple of hours, Web of Shadows is pretty darn fun. But then it all starts to go downhill. The mi...

  • Abstract:  Spideys new adventure is a doozy; his arch-nemesis Venom attacks the city and is giving the hurt to our hero. At his most vulnerable moment, the Symbiote which gives Venom his power (a loose interpretation) has a part of it go onto Spiderman, giving h...

  • Great animations; fun combat; different suits bring different styles to Spidey.
  • Camera issues; repetitive objectives; visual glitches.
  • Though Spider-Man: Web of Shadows hardly treads new ground, it should manage to appease fans eager to play a Spider-Man game that isnt sub-par (Spider-Man 3, were looking at you). Web of Shadows manages to provide a good deal of fun even it doesnt b...
