The editors liked

  • Deep bass and crisp highs
  • Above-average noise cancellation for low price
  • Can be used in wired
  • Passive mode
  • Comfortable fit
  • Long continuous battery life
  • Good active noise cancelling
  • Comfortable padding
  • Strong Bluetooth connection with AAC and can also be wired
  • Ambient mode lets you hear your surroundings
  • Battery life
  • Price
  • Active noise cancellation is the main selling point here
  • And it works well
  • While Sony has been a long-time supporter of USB Type-C on audio products
  • It's nice to see when many other comparable headphones are still using microUSB

The editors didn't like

  • Mids are somewhat scooped out
  • No carrying case or pouch
  • ANC has a very hard time blocking out bass-range noise
  • Not very portable
  • Build quality is not great
  • Don't fold at the hinges
  • Lack of LDAC support is confusing
  • Earcups aren't deep at all
  • Mids and highs are lacking in clarity
  • The audio quality is fine
  • But it doesn't quite match what you get from more expensive headphones
  • The small size and similar texture of the playback controls take some getting used to

  • Comfortable, minimalist design, USB Type-C charging, Excellent battery life, Good noise cancellation, Clean, gentle, laid-back sound
  • No folding mechanism, Controls are a bit difficult to use, No app support, No high-resolution Bluetooth codec support,
  • The Sony WH-CH710N is a rather strange successor product, considering that it's priced lower than its predecessor. This is largely an improved product; the design is good, active noise cancellation is effective, and battery life is as good as before, if n...

  • Audio quality, Long battery life, Lightweight
  • Average noise cancellation, No companion app
  • While Sony is using the ANC tech on the WH-CH710N as its key selling point, I think the headphone is highly impressive in all the other areas. The battery life is straight away mind-blowing. I also love the balanced audio tuning, which definitely makes it...

  • Abstract:  When I got hold of my first noise cancelling headset a few years ago, it was an investment that I chose to keep away from my wife. But over the years, with all my travels and long stopovers at noisy airports, it has proved to be a worthy investment. But w...

  • Abstract:  The WH-CH710N is the latest addition to Sony's ever-expanding stable of wireless headphones with active noise-cancelling. At S$249, it's one of the brand's more affordable options, sitting comfortably below the flagship WH-1000XM3 and other more high-end...
