The editors liked
Beautiful picture with excellent colors and the blackest blacks. Plenty of connection options. Simple design exudes grace and poise. Builtin WiFi
Watch YouTube
Netflix
Hulu and Sony's own Hollywood offerings without an external box
Attractively designed. Excellent image detail. Wide viewing angles. Accurate colors. Energy efficient.
The Sony KDL-HX850 delivers excellent picture quality for an LCD
With deep blacks and plenty of detail in shadows. Blooming was minimal
And both uniformity and viewing angle were very good. The Gorilla Glass front adds both toughness and good looks
The editors didn't like
Menus are a mess
Remote is meh
And configuration requires Ring TFM. Internet options (Yahoo widgets!) aren't easy to navigate
But at least the remote has a dedicated Netflix button. 3D glasses sold separately. It does Skype
But the camera is sold sepa
Pricey
And 3D glasses not included. Low contrast ratio
The HX850 is expensive compared with like-performing plasmas

Impressive black levels and contrast, Very good uniformity, Excellent colour reproduction out-of-the-box, Reference colour and greyscale post-calibration, Picture processing is of a very high standard, Beautiful design, as ever, Extremely competitive pric
Speaker stand may put some off, Some noise in dark areas of the picture, Edge lighting can get caught out near the perimeters of screen, Occasional banding and DSE witnessed, Fractured feeling to feature set, 3D Glasses are still not good, Viewing angles
There were certainly some harsh words dished out for Sony when it came to providing the 3D experience, in respect to the older Bravia's, and rightly so. They just didn't get it quite right and through a mixture of parallax and crosstalk issues they just c...
Rich colours and stunning contrast levels; Great motion processing; Impressive 3D performance; Good line-up of video-on-demand services
Styling won't be to everyone's taste; Refuses to stream common digital video formats; Menu system could be more straightforward
The 55-inch Sony 55HX853 is the best TV from Sony in a long time. It produces gorgeous pictures in both 2D and 3D, has impressive sound quality and a very strong line-up of video-on-demand services. The styling will split opinions and its inability to ...

Elegant design, Awesome 2D picture quality, Good online content, Excellent value
A little crosstalk with 3D, A few operating issues, SEN loads slowly, Very rare backlight 'blocking'
There really isn't any overstating the potential importance of the KDL-46HX853 to Sony right now. For in one single leap its stunning picture performance takes the struggling Japanese giant from near-zero to all-conquering hero - an achievement made all ...
Sony's new HX850 has good picture quality for its price, performing better than similarly-priced LG and Samsung models in its default and calibrated settings. Apart from some minor issues with detail in dark areas, the HX850 handles both standard and H...

Superb picture processor, Stunning visuals, Supports 3D content very well
Too expensive
Having an insight into Sony KDL-55HX850 BRAVIA Full HD 3D TV Review, you will realize this is highly a sophisticated Led television with many new-generation features. It is convincing both from performance and design point of view. However, we would like ...

At $2100 and $2600 (for the 46-inch and 55-inch models, respectively) the HX850 is on par with its LED competition in terms of price—its certainly more affordable than Panasonics WT50 —while producing a picture that can compete with plasmas like Pannys...
Abstract: Sony's market share might have taken a hit of late, but with the Bravia 40HX85, it could well be on its way back to the top. If we had to describe the design of this picture tube in one word, it would be ‘fabulous.' For borders around the screen this TV h...
A good blend of features, performance and design Sony sells the 46HX850 for a price of Rs. 123,990, which would be too expensive for just another 46-inch TV. The 46HX850 however, isn't just another TV. It's actually a pretty good performing displ...
